Tecate is a colonial town that is distinguished by its landscapes, mountains and rock formations. Small city in the state of Baja California, has a cool and pleasant climate, ideal for leisure activities.

To corroborate the above, it is enough to visit one of its several recognized spas worldwide. In addition, here you can find more than 50 ranches and spas, as well as other recreational areas where camping, riding, ecotourism and cycling are some of the main incentives.

We know from its history, thanks to the Franciscan Francisco Garcés, that its original inhabitants were indigenous and other surviving groups, in the localities of Las Juntas de N "ji (Nejí) and of Ku" at, located in the central region of northern Baja. California.

Interestingly, the name of Tecate appears in the registry books of the San Diego de Alcalá mission, founded by Fray Junípero Serra in 1769, as a station or resting place, which distinguishes this singular town until today.

With the triumph of the Revolution it became a new center of wealth for Mexico, whose products were agriculture, mining and industry. This last one was developed thanks to the appearance of important companies, like the factories of flours and whiskey of corn, better known like bourbon.

In 1929 the Manufacture Company of Malta was established, which gave way to the "Compañía Aceites Vegetales de Tecat" and, in 1943, the "Cervecería de Tecate" was built.

Among other attractions we can mention that it is an important artisanal center and of manufacture of ceramics and fine furniture; the cave paintings of Rancho San José and the Vallecitos Museum, where you can see petates made by the ancient kumiai and the curious figure of "El Diablito".

This is a place that invites you to get confused between locals and visitors, sit on benches next to the kiosk and listen; either to the echoes of its old settlers or the traditional music of a northern trio.
