Devotion arena

Named in honor of the insurgent Josefa Ortiz de Dominguez, it is also known as the Colossus of the Cimatario for its geographical position on the slopes of the hill with the same name. It is the house of Querétaro Fútbol Club, the team of the Gallos Blancos. It is a palace of shows that hosted the first rock concerts in Mexico, starting with Rod Stewart.

  • In 1982, Governor Rafael Camacho Guzmán outlined the project of building a first-level stadium for this capital city.
  • An architectural competition was held then, and the winning project was the one proposed by the architects Luis Alfonso Fernandez, Gabriel Nuñez and Alejandro Ordaz.
  • The stadium has had several renovations over the years.
  • The stadium has an oval shape, and it is divided into 3 levels, the first and the third ones are grandstands, whereas the second ones is for exclusive box seats.
  • Although the field has 6 different types of fine grass, it looks like a perfect and uniform green carpet.
  • Because of its design, features and functionality, the Corregidora Stadium is considered one of the best stadiums in whole Mexico.
